January Again
I’m proud to share that my first book will be published in 2026.
This time last year, I started writing again with the intention of publishing twice a month. My goal was simple: share more work, experiment with narrative styles, and rebuild the habit of writing consistently. With a demanding career, I committed to publishing twice a month which was reasonable, but challenging at times.
The hard part isn’t the writing itself. It’s being intentional about what to share. There’s a lot of stories I’ve been holding back for this book, and I’m eager to finally let some of it see the light. In many ways, this project is for everyone who’s been following along since the now-defunct Substack.
Below is some of my favorite artwork from 2025. Very early thematic inspiration. There’s a long way to go, but I’ve always been drawn to cover art, and I’m excited to illustrate/design my own.
Writing a book is difficult. But like any worthwhile project, progress comes from making time and chipping away, piece by piece. Words become sentences. Sentences become paragraphs. Paragraphs become pages.
People have told me they’d want a physical copy of this book. I get that. I enjoy collecting books and keeping them as part of my library. That said, first books are rarely an author’s best, and length matters. For now, an e-book route (a simple PDF download) feels like the most accessible option. I’m open to thoughts on this.
It’s also that time of year again. My birthday is in a week, the forgotten January birthdays. No one really cares about us after the holidays. I should probably do something nice for myself.
Hopefully, my thoughts on January 2026 won’t feel quite as heavy as last year’s.
Happy New Year. More soon.
