A Busy Month
November was a busy month for me and mine, with flights and several dinners on the calendar, road trips in between, and of course, Thanksgiving dinner.
We went to Vikings–Bears at US Bank Stadium’s Delta Sky360 Club this year. Last year, we did Vikings–Texans, and that game was much more in our favor. Still, a fantastic experience, even though the Vikings have been painful to watch lately.
Some of the former Vikings were there in force, which is always fun to see. And it was great seeing Kevin Zack, our former Equipment Manager at St. Thomas, doing his thing on the Vikings sideline again. We caught up with Kevin and some old friends, and made some new friends too.
Work never really slows down this time of year, but we managed to squeeze in an associate dinner / Friendsgiving at a French restaurant in my neighborhood a week or so before the holiday.
For me, the highlight of the month has to be Thanksgiving Day. Even though we were missing some family, we still had a full house with most seats taken at dinner time. It’s always so nice to have a lot of family under the same roof to share a good meal, tell stories, and laugh our asses off.
Earlier in the month I went to a movie with great reviews and, for some reason, ordered a large peach-and-cherry Coke, which was surprisingly tasty. I stopped drinking pop/soda in college, but that Coke might’ve rewired me because I’ve been thinking about it ever since. Maybe it was the IMAX nostalgia.
When I wasn’t trying to get a deal signed or working on the blog, I mostly watched football and caught up with friends about everything and nothing. I think I’ve reached the point in life where that’s the best part of any week for me. It brings back memories and sometimes wigs me out, given how far we’ve all come.
Flying back to MSP tomorrow night, and we’ll be back at it Tuesday morning. December should be interesting, I believe there’s warm weather in my near future. Hoping to see a lot of my dad’s side across the pond around Christmas, which will be a real treat. Until then, checking in with family and friends in Minneapolis as much as possible.
Last month of the year. 2026 around the corner.
